About the Owners
Lee and Marilee Muench married in 2013 after meeting in the University of Idaho’s Army ROTC program. Lee entered the Army’s active-duty component as an EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) officer, while Marilee completed her time in the Reserves. Upon fulfilling their service obligations, the couple returned to the small town of Grangeville, Idaho; and chose to serve ranchers, by establishing Patriot Cattle Company in 2018. They raise their cattle on leased ground from Lee's parents, Al and Mary Muench.
Lee grew up ranching in Grangeville, assisting his parents with their herd. This consisted of a combination of a commercial cow/calf operation, and registered Black Angus herd. Throughout his childhood Lee dreamt of someday becoming a seedstock producer. His experience in both commercial ranching and seedstock production provides him with a unique and well-rounded view of the current cattle industry’s needs. Marilee spent her childhood in California and was a High School teacher prior to claiming the titles of “Mom” and “Ranch Wife.” Together they have three beautiful children; Weston, Roy, and Dorothy. The Muench family feels incredibly blessed to have been given the opportunity to raise their family simply, how they see fit. They have the ability to raise their children in a way many others can only dream of doing. The Lord has blessed them tremendously and they don’t intend on wasting His gift.
Testimonial
"Since their inception, we have purchased Patriot bulls and continue to be more pleased with each generation. Patriot bulls are structurally sound with good feet and are notable hill climbers in steep country. Disposition and handling is an important aspect in our operation and Patriot bulls excel in these criteria. It is difficult to find a group of such gentle, easy handling bulls like the Patriots. Calves sired by Patriot bulls are noted for their moderate birth weights, uniformity, sustained health, and ability to grow. We appreciate the fact Patriot bulls are not pampered in a feedlot and are designed with longevity of the cow herd in mind. The Muench’s have done an outstanding job in producing a set of animals that are structurally sound, have excellent dispositions, and produce calves that perform well for typical Idaho ranching conditions."
